Iranian cities to host European Film Week

Art and Experience Cinema Group is to host European Film Week in several Iranian cities.

The Art and Experience Cinema Group has been set to host European Film Week in a number of Iranian cities.

Movie theaters and cinematic centers in six cities of Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, Tabriz, Kerman, and Babol will provide silver screens for 15 films from Europe.

Films from Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and the UK are in the lineup.

Notable among the films are 'Afterimage' by Andrzej Wajda from Poland, 'The Young Karl Marx' by Raoul Peck from Germany, 'The Other Side of Hope' by Aki Kaurismäki from Finland, and 'The Day Will Come' by Jesper Westerlin Nielsen from Denmark.

'Fly Away Home' by Mirjam Unger from Austria, 'Son of Sofia' by Elina Psykou from Greece, 'Manhood' by Péter Politzer from Hungary, and 'The Miner' by Hanna Slak from Slovenia are also on the list.

The program will open on Friday at Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran. Representative of the European Union in Iran, a number of foreign ambassadors, cultural attaches, artists, and journalists will be present at the opening.

The European Film Week is slated for October 12-19, 2018.
